Well, Happy Thoughtful Thursday. . .

Hello you wonderful people!

I have missed our random conversations...

*Sigh*

Oh, sorry, what was that?

Oh, yes. Where have I been?

Well, I don't know how many of you knew this, but

a few months ago, I took the plunge and quit my job at Dairy Queen.

Yeah...It was like a rush of awesome-power to

my brain.

Until my first non-payday hit.

Yikes.

Job hunting began right then.

She searched, therefore she found...an awesome job.

Like serioiusly.

A job at a hair salon as a receptionist.

4 days a week.

Now some of you might be thinking,
"What good is that?"

To those I say, "Oh you don't even know..."

It's incredible, here are a list of perks:

1. No ice cream in my hair at the end of the day.

2. Fun people.

3. No ice cream is in my bra.

4. Next door to a Starbucks. #coffeeaholic

5. No ice cream is underneath my nails.

6. I can change my hair, because the girls there

are awesome.

7. No ice cream in...well in every crevice of your body...

it's like sand, but sticky. And gross smelling.

And evil. It's got a mind of its own.

You don't even know.

Really.

 

So many perks.

So I was super happy with this job for about 3 weeks, then decided

that I loved it! However the pay just wasn't

makin' my bills go away, ya know?

So what did Virginia do?

She got a job at a travel agency.

4-5 days a week.

 

Some of you may remember the little girl that I nanny for...

She's like the cutest 8 year old on the planet.

It's Juniper.

Now if your mind is like mine. It's adding up this legit dillema.

Which is,

3 jobs.

And school.

And fitness.

And family.

And homework.

And friends.

And church.

And youth group.

And girls group.

And, naturally, a new man.

Yep that's right ladies and gents, Virginia has a new man in my life.

Just someone I met, and instantly fell for.

Isn't it crazy how that works?

And oh my...he's gorgeous too.

My oh my!

Do you guys want to say hi to him?

It's okay, really, we're very open about our relationship.

 

 

In case you don't know what this is...He's Picasa. Just the best

photo editor-thing, in the whole world.

He (Yes, Picasa is a "he") is everything I need in a photo

touch up system.

I think this relationship is gonna last for a long time. ; )

 

So...As you may be able to tell, by that little bit of word vomit-I

have my hands juggling multiple things...while drinking coffee.

Jus' sayin'.

 

However, this does not make you lovely spirits any less important to me.

So. Here I am today, making an effort to

rekindle our lovely relationship, which is strong throughout all trials.

Just like Picasa and I.

Snap-Crackle-Pop. . .

Rice Crispy Edition

What is something so irresistable to all ages?
I mean really, if you've ever been exposed to this

wonderful, gooey, crunchy-perfection sweet

treat...there is no turning your back to them ever again.

They are

 

Rice Crispies.

 

Oh yes. I went there.

Now that I have you thinking about Rice Crispies

you find yourselves not able to think of anything else, correct?

If not-shame on you!
How dare you try to resist the fattening, buttery,

sticky delight of a Rice Crispy.

There is no other breed quite like this cracktastic treat

(That sounds wrong...) marshmellowy creation.

 

But what will we ever do?

These treats are loaded with fats, sugar and

cholesterol...what a predicament.

If only there was a healthier version somewhere...

out there....

(Over the rainbow...sorry, couldn't  resist!)

 

Oh, but, wait!

I have this covered guys-

I will make a healthier version of these

magnificent joys!

Now, you may be thinking,

"Without butter?"

"She's mad!"

 

"Well that's a great idea!"

(^- in an Edna Mode {From the Incredibles} voice)

 

Well you guys might just feel sorry about those comments

after you try my yummy, delcious, spectacular

Rice Crispies.

 

So here they are, all ready

for you to march into your kitchen and make...
Go on now... Like now.

Virginia's Rice Crispies

 

-8 C. of Brown Crispy Rice cereal

 

- 1/4 C. Flaxseed or Wheat Germ

 

- 3/4 C. of nut butter

(I used Sunflower butter- pretty amazing idea, if I do

say so myself!)

 

-1 C. honey, brown rice syrup or aguave
(I used aguave and they didn't quite turn out sticky enough,

brown rice syrup would probably be best.)

 

-1-2 t. vanilla or maple flavoring

 

-Chocolate chips, craisins, mini marshmellows, nuts

if you desire.

 

First, measure out the crispy cereal and

wheat germ or flaxseed.

 

 

It is CRUCIAL that you don't

make a mess while pouring the rice cereal...

 

 

Then, in a small saucepan, heat up the nut butter, vanilla

and honey (or whichever sticky substance you choose.)

 

Yummy! XO

 

on medium heat. Stir consistently for about ten minutes.

Take off the stove and pour over the crispy mix.

 

Make sure you get every piece of the crispy rice covered

in the goey-delicious smelling-mixture. For cereal. <--Get it?

Press firmly down into a long brownie-sized pan.

 

They are best after being chilled for about an hour.

 

 

Feel free to lick the spoon...the bowl... the counter...

an hour is a long time to wait!

So...Thursday slump? Yes?

Don't you hate that feeling; that a particular

day in the week can give you a gut feeling.

For me, Thursdays are a day that I just want

to fast forward through; I want to go to my Girls Bible

Study Group then go straight home and watch

Vampire Diaries. That's it.

Anybody else a fan of VD?

We could get into the details of "Team Stephan" or "Team Damon"
(If you're not Team Damon, please just stop

reading this blog. Seriously, of course I'm kidding...)

 

So I made it my duty to give you a few laughs on this thursday

morning, just to help you make it through the rest

of your day!

I don't know if any of you know about my slight

addiction amusement of the sight

Pinterest, but it's very entertaining.

up super late, eating too much, and even

slacking on my workouts.

SO let's hope try for better!

Oh and just an update: Coffee Free Month...Wowsa, it's hard! Not

buying coffee, is so hard. However

I have learned about so many different options that can replace

it that are less expensive and in some ways better for you!

For One Month Only. . .

Well hello there! How are you guys today? Pretty good huh?

 Glad to hear it, I actually had a fairly decent Monday as well, who would've thunk it, right?

 

I usually reserve my Mondays as my easy days, because I mean

really, who is ever really prepared for Monday?

(By the way, for those of you that are Monday kinda pepes, sorry,

but you're a very unique breed.) 

 

So today I've been in the kitchen trying, desperately, to come up with

a recipe for Raw Energy Bites....this attempt is yet

to be called a success, so hopefully by wednesday I will have

a great recipe! May your prayers be with me.

 

So...It's not uncommon knowledge that I like me some coffee.

But, I have to say;

 

Hi. My name is Virginia.

And I'm a Coffee Addict.

 

 

 

 

So, what should I do?

Well, my pastor was just giving a sermon on how we could

give something to our community with even the smallest of offerings.

So here's my offering;

 

I am going to give up buying any coffee the next 24 days, until November 1st. 1/4 of the funds that I save from doing this-

to be brutally honest- I spend about $25/week on coffee. So around $6-8/week towards our offering at church.

 

I encourage everyone to do something to help their community. Whether

it be volunteering at a shelter, helping someone cross the road or unload groceries or give something up for the remainder of the month to

give to offering at your church.
